Salary: £18,184-£19,162 per annum / £9.30-£9.80 per hour
We currently provide 24/7 support to 5 individuals to live a fulfilled and accomplished life within one of our services in Forth Valley. As a team, we are very privileged to support all 5 people in their own home, and our role is to meet any need that they might have. No two days are the same as each person requires different support; from guidance and prompting with tasks, to all aspects of support. The support we provide includes, but is not limited to, bathing, showering, dressing, shopping, meal preparation and medication. Under normal circumstances, we support people to be part of the local community, support any interests that they might have and ultimately live the best life they possibly can.
What we look for in our Support Practitioners
Successful support practitioners come from different backgrounds and have a range of experiences, but all share our values of respect, interdependence, choice, control, openness and honesty. In our eyes, the best support practitioners are warm, open, honest, resilient, respectful, patient, positive, empathetic and well-motivated team players who are creative thinkers and excellent problem-solvers.
If you’re good at seeing people as unique individuals with their own skills, opinions and dreams for the future; developing professional relationships with a diverse set of people; encouraging people to overcome obstacles and ensuring their voices are heard; if you are an excellent team player, but also value being trusted to work alone then we have opportunities for you to join our team in Forth Valley.
We can offer you the opportunity to work in one of Scotland’s leading social care and support charities. We know our work is challenging and rewarding, and we require people with a flexible and inspirational approach able to find innovative solutions with people, not for them.
We’ll trust you to become an amazing member of our team, to actively listen to people, to develop personalised support plans for people with often quite complex challenges to overcome. We’ll support you by providing a comprehensive induction, regular supervision and team meetings to ensure you maximise your potential.
We’d love to hear from you if you have experience in a similar role – we value that experience. However if you don’t have any experience and working in Social Care is new to you, don’t be put off! We are interested in what you are like as a person, and what values you can bring. If they match ours, we are convinced that our training and ongoing support will make you into an excellent Support Practitioner.
We’ll develop your career by helping you register as a professional social care practitioner with the SSSC. We’ll support you in completing your vocational SVQ training and we’ll ensure you benefit from continual professional development.
